Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked deep-dish pie shell
  • 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chiles
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie shell on a baking sheet.
  3. Spread cooked sausage evenly into the pie shell.
  4. Layer Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese over the sausage.
  5. Sprinkle green chiles over the cheese layer.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, salt, and pepper.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layers.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the pie stand for 5 minutes before serving.
