Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Rub the mixture evenly over the beef tenderloin.
Place the tenderloin on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.
Roast in the preheated oven until a thermometer reads 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare or 145°F (63°C) for medium, about 45-60 minutes.
Let the beef rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
