Ingredients

  • 1 premade angel food cake or pound cake, cubed
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup lemon curd
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional, for macerating blueberries)
  • Lemon zest for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cake into small cubes. If desired, toss blueberries with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes to enhance sweetness.
  2. In a large trifle dish or individual serving cups, layer the ingredients starting with a layer of cake cubes.
  3. Spoon lemon curd over the cake layer.
  4. Sprinkle fresh blueberries on top of the lemon curd.
  5. Add a layer of whipped cream to complete the first round.
  6. Continue layering cake, lemon curd, blueberries, and whipped cream until the dish is full.
  7. Top with a final dollop of whipped cream, fresh blueberries, and lemon zest if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
