Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries and sugar.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and release their juices (about 5 minutes).
  3. Use a fork or masher to gently crush the strawberries for a chunky syrup texture. Set aside to cool.
  4. Divide the strawberry syrup evenly between two glasses.
  5. Add a few ice cubes if desired.
  6. Pour milk over the strawberry syrup, filling each glass.
  7. Stir the milk and strawberry syrup together for a beautiful pink hue.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
