Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook broccoli for 4-5 minutes, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the skillet and cook the beef until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and ginger, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Return broccoli to the skillet and pour the sauce over the mixture. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice.
