Ingredients

Cake Layers

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup dulce de leche

Instructions

Cake Layers

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and oil until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with coffee and milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely.

Frosting

  1. In a mixer, cream the butter until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the coffee and dulce de leche until well combined.
  4. Frost the cooled cake layers and assemble.
