Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, if using. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated in the creamy garlic sauce.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy!
